Since I am not the greatest at keeping a flight log on paper this site is intended to function as such and might be a good read to peeps passing by on occasion. It is created to share my experiences with people I know or met on one of the travels that come with paragliding or a photo album of the many pics I or others made. I hope you enjoy the read and if not surf along and don’t feel bad about it … I wont neither.

How the flying virus infected me …

Was back when I was at the age of about of 5 I was fascinated about flying things like airplanes, helicopters and started to read up on them when I was a few years older …
I literally learned reading with books about planes and aviation. Not only was I interested on flying one but the technical background intrigued me too. Plastic non flyable model where my first steps in ‘making’ planes, after a while I had an amazing collection of warplanes, mainly propeller type aircraft from WW II. The Wright brothers and names like Lilienthal where no strangers to me at very young age
So after a while of building masses of paper planes and the non flyable plastic models it was time to try a model glider … I remember it was a Graupner  UHU that I built and after that came a model I can’t really remember the name of but this one was completely made out of balsa wood and had no plastic parts ...

Then came paragliding

A mate who started his ultra light license asked me if I’d join him one day on a paragliding initiation day … so off we went ground handling and the first launch attempts on the practice slope, after numerous trial runs I started to get the hang of it and could control the glider a little. So I went up the slope a little higher (higher then my instructors liked anyway) and leaned in to the launched stuff a bit steeper … and boom there is was just a few meter above the ground for just a few seconds, however this was plenty for me to know this is it ! From that day on the ques for flying higher longer further and better has begun.
